-
To replace your removable dentures with fixed teeth

Radiographs are usually taken during the consultation appointment. Javier uses the most cutting-edge technology to assess and plan your case, such as 3D images of your jaws.

Your general health and social habits are important when deciding whether you are a suitable candidate for dental implants or not. We will also assess your face, jaws, teeth and gums in order to:
-
present all treatment options
-
inform you of the benefits, risks and cost of the chosen treatment
-
give you the chance to ask questions or concerns you may have
The surgery
In the majority of the cases, we only use dental local anaesthetic for your implant placement, the same that your dentist would use to fill a tooth. The actual procedure is quick and painless, for a single unit tooth it takes about 20 minutes and most of the people say that it is well more pleasant than when they had the tooth taken out.

If you are a nervous patient, we can also help you. We offer sedation to help to relax during the procedure.

There will be some discomfort for a few days following the procedure, in most cases managed only with standard over the counter pain killers.

If you require a temporary replacement of your missing teeth, this will be fitted at this stage so that you have teeth at all times.
The final crown/bridgework
We will see you again 3 to 4 months after the surgery to construct the final custom-made crown or bridgework. At the first visit an impression will be taken and sent to our well experienced dental technician (specialised in implant prosthesis) to ensure both dentist and patient are happy with the results.

Two weeks later, the final crown or bridgework will be fitted onto your implant/s. We will ensure you are happy and smiling before you leave.
Looking after your implant
Long term evidence shows that adequately delivered implants with good maintenance are long lasting. To ensure your implants stay with you for the long haul you must:

-
Have a meticulous oral hygiene including brushing for two minutes and cleaning between teeth with dental floss or interdental brushes twice daily.
-
Visit your dentist regularly to examine your teeth/implants and gums. Early detection of a dental problem is always crucial.
-
Visit the dental hygienist at least twice a year. They ensure that no plaque or tartar accumulates around your implants. Healthy gums are the protection your implants need.
-
If you smoke, stop it, your teeth/implants and gums will appreciate it!
